Wine Profile
Production Notes
Varietal Composition: 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Malbec, 9% Petit Verdot, 2% Merlot
Winemaker Notes
Luxurious and beautifully aromatic, the bouquet of this robust Cabernet Sauvignon reveals fascinating notes of loamy earth and wet-rock minerality, with tantalizing layers of wild blackberry, bramble, plum and cassis, as well as oak-inspired hints of graham cracker and mocha. On the palate it is ripe and powerful, with silky, mouth-filling dark berry and damson plum flavors that carry the wine to a long, driving finish.
Production
Heavy winter snowfall in 2019 led to well-irrigated soils and a late budbreak. The relatively cool weather continued throughout spring and summer with temperatures in the high 80s to low 90s, and only a few days over 100º F. This allowed for beautiful flavor development balanced by ideal acid retention, producing elegant and age-worthy wines with lovely energy and character, supple tannins and bright, juicy flavors.
